Since the 70s, international chess has been closely linked to the city of Benidorm, especially the Benidorm Chess Club, founded in 1968 in the San Sebastián bar where the most passionate fans gathered. After a few years of parenthesis, once again the Benidorm City Council is committed to promoting the organization of chess events with the BENIDORM CHESS OPEN.

During the first day, October 26, the “Emilio Pellicer” Memorial will be organized with €2,060 in prizes. It will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will end at 8:30 p.m.
The two International Opens Opens for professionals and amateurs will begin on 27th October: OPEN “A” SUPRA 1800 and OPEN “B” SUB 2000. Swiss System 9 rounds, for eight consecutive days, with a game pace of 90’+30” per movement.
The first round will start at 5:30 p.m. The rest of the afternoon rounds will begin at 4:30 p.m. There will be one daily round except on November 1, when there will be a double round in the morning (10:00 a.m.) and in the afternoon (4:30 p.m.). The final round, on November 3, will begin at 9:30 a.m. The pairings will be managed with computer programs approved by FIDE and the development of the competition will be available in the international website info64.com

Both Open will be held in the halls of the HOTEL MELIÁ BENIDORM. To be able to participate in the competition and parallel activities, players must be staying at the hotel, where there are exclusive offers for participants and their companions.
The exception to this rule is for all FACV federated players and residents of the Valencian Community. It reserves the right of admission.
